2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV

The evolution at Chevrolet from the introduction of the electrified Volt in 2011 to the launch of the all-electric Equinox EV in 2024 seems glacially slow in a market that at times appears to change overnight. Nevertheless, the steady progress at parent GM toward the development of the dedicated-electric Ultium platform that underpins the Equinox EV may prove to be the automaker’s saving grace.

RPM News Weekly had an opportunity to test drive a front wheel drive 2LT edition the Equinox EV for a week and discovered it to be well qualified to ride with the pack of compact all-electric SUVs that includes the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Kia EV6 and the Mustang Mach-E.
